Lol nah, he wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know (misfiring, burning oil), but I bought it dirt cheap so I think it would be impossible for me to take a big loss unless it actually stopped running. *furiously knocks wood*

I don't think that engine ever stops being able to run, it just rests from time to time.

When my headgaskets blew, the first mechanic I went to was going to charge me $100 an hour to work on it. On an old 4Runner. When I laughed at that, he offered me $800 for the vehicle because his son might want the wheels and tires.
